9 DIFFERENT TYPES OF MODELS.

They’re different types of Models , your type can  be determine by a mix of “genetics and personality”. Knowing the category you fall into helps you determine your Career Path.

  • PLUS SIZE MODELS

Plus size model Is a full-figured model, In modelling Industry, they’re majorly from size 10 with a height requirement of 5:8ft to 6ft. Being a plus size model gives opportunities to do anything plus size from runway to commercial . Although,Commercial has no size restrictions but having  the right agency and Hard Work is essential in the fast rising Industry.

  • PETITE MODELS

Petite models are generally 5’7 and under, They are often booked for swimwear, body part modelling, beauty modelling etc. In fact, Petite models can do everything 5’8 to 6feet models can do except its harder to break through in some areas in the industry e.g Runway… unlike the taller models especially for male models. Here are extreme and exceptional cases like that of supermodel Kate Moss, 5’7 Devon Aoki 5’5 Aaron Frew 5’7 this models and a lot more, break  the bar of high fashion rules for petite models, another example is our very own Angela Philips and Aduke Shittabey who has worked major runway in Nigeria regardless.

  • SWIMSUIT /LINGERERIE/UNDERWEAR MODELS

These models have a fuller bust, firm butt and toned torso unlike the high fashion models’. Height is not as important to brands as advertising their brands with your voluptuousity, they are usually not required to fit into the standard runway/high fashion size but larger.

  • GLAMOUR MODELS

This model is popularly known for their sexually suggestive or seductive poses, they also work as swimwear/lingerie models reason being they have fuller burst slim waist and well-proportioned buttock unlike high fashion models, however you have to be really sure you’re comfortable with nudity before entering this part of the industry.

  • BODY PART MODELLING

This models have admirable body part that can fit shoes perfectly or bags, nails, piercing eyes, delicate hands, beauty related product etc. either for a commercial or print advertisement, this part of modeling also doesn’t focus on your height but casting directors inspect body part at castings.

  • FITNESS MODEL

They are very athletic, fit and toned models, they majorly model in the commercial industry, prints for sport wears, or anything athletics, many fit models started out as a hobby, trainer or athletes, don’t forget it’s all about “talent and interest”.

Mature models can do absolutely anything commercial as long the role is within their age range they’re generally 30 years of age and more, just as commercial industry get more lucrative so does mature modelling market enlarge.

These models are generally 12years below there’s no specific height or size limit, agent/client always want child with great personality, one who can work well around strangers and on set, child models majorly get booked for commercial and can do anything commercial.

In Nigeria most people refer to them as hostess, promotional models are very outgoing, friendly and have a very good understanding of clients product as they are one of the ways companies generate interest, spread awareness about new product and generate sales with their pleasant conduct, this models are very attractive and interestingly dressed.
